an applied engineering approach for predicting electricity demand in future healthcare and hospitality facilities

Authors
Abstract    accurate prediction of electricity demand in hospitals, healthcare centers, hotels, and guesthouses is essential for designing stable distribution networks. due to the lack of detailed architectural and equipment information of these facilities, this study presents an electricity demand prediction model for the front-end engineering design stage. using the coincidence factor (cf), demand factor (df), and the power density of outdoor and building areas, the model enables the estimation of maximum electricity demand. the model data were extracted from a forthcoming healthcare development project in iran. the results show that the proposed model achieves mean absolute errors (mae) of 0.42 mw and 0.112 mw, and root mean square errors (rmse) of 0.64 mw and 0.120 mw for hospital complexes and hotels, respectively, indicating satisfactory performance in estimating maximum electricity demand.
