Abstract
abstract—this paper analyzes and optimizes the addressing and debt-collection processes in iran’s electric power distribution industry using modern geographic information systems (gis) and artificial intelligence (ai) technologies. in recent years, the power sector has faced serious challenges, including the accumulation of customer debt, inefficiencies in traditional collection methods, and high operational costs—issues that disrupt the cash flow of distribution companies and negatively impact service continuity and energy equity. in this study, an intelligent model is developed to predict and classify high-risk customers by processing billing system data and geographic coordinates. the model identifies debt patterns and imbalances, enabling targeted and prioritized management of the debt-collection process. the results indicate significant improvements in prediction accuracy, enhanced collection performance, reduced operational costs, and increased organizational efficiency. furthermore, spatial analysis using gis facilitates the identification of high-risk areas and reduces field inspection time, contributing to optimized human and operational resource management. the implementation of this integrated system represents an effective step toward the digitalization of the power industry and the transition to smart and sustainable distribution networks.
