Abstract
in recent years, biometric authentication based on electroencephalogram (eeg) signals has emerged as an innovative and secure approach in brain-computer interface (bci) systems, owing to the non-forgeability and stability of the brain’s physiological characteristics. in this study, a method based on multiset canonical correlation analysis (mset-cca) is proposed for classifying discriminative eeg features in personal identity recognition. the proposed approach employs the mset-cca algorithm to extract patterns in which the signal-to-noise ratio is enhanced and eeg response-related components are emphasized. these components are considered as stable and distinctive features for each stimulation frequency. to evaluate the performance, the benchmark database containing data from 35 participants was used. the performance of the proposed mset-cca method was compared with state-of-the-art techniques, including common spatial pattern (csp) feature extraction combined with support vector machine (svm) and k-nearest neighbor (knn) classifiers. the results showed that the proposed mset-cca method improved the average recognition accuracy by approximately 5.9% and 22.1% compared to the svm+csp and knn+csp methods, respectively. these findings demonstrate the effectiveness of the mset-cca approach in enhancing the performance of eeg-based biometric authentication systems.
