چکیده    Bovine mastitis caused by staphylococcus aureus (s. aureus) is a major challenge for dairy production. growing antimicrobial resistance and consumer concerns about antibiotic residues highlight the need for natural alternatives. this study evaluated the in vitro antimicrobial activity of milkzero®, an herbal formulation of nigella sativa and mentha piperita, against s. aureus isolates from bovine mastitis. hydro alcoholic extract of n. sativa and aqueous extract of m. piperita (10% w/v each) were combined. seventy isolates were obtained from mastitic milk samples. mic was determined using clsi broth microdilution method with 0.5 mcfarland suspensions. complete inhibition was observed in 37.5% of isolates at 1:1 dilution (50 mg/ml) and 21% at 1:2 dilution (25 mg/ml). overall, 61.5% of isolates were susceptible at tested concentrations. milkzero® exhibited promising antimicrobial potential against mastitis-associated s. aureus, supporting further in vivo evaluation for sustainable mastitis management.
