the effect of the probiotic preparation 'lactobact-arz' on the dynamics of certain morphological and biochemical blood indicators in calves

The article presents the results of a study on the use of the probiotic preparation lactobact-arz in holstein breed calves. the study was conducted on a total of 30 newborn calves, divided equally into control and experimental groups (15 calves each). the use of lactobact-arz improves clinical and biochemical blood parameters; the hemoglobin concentration showed a tendency to increase in the experimental groups of calves. specifically, the hemoglobin level (hgb) increased by 11.2% compared to the control groups, with this difference being statistically significant (p < 0.05). when analyzing the erythrocyte group of red blood cells - erythrocytes (rbc), which are responsible for hemoglobin transport and metabolic processes in tissues and organs the calves in the experimental group showed an increase of 14.6% compared to the control groups, also statistically significant (p < 0.05). the hematocrit level on the 15th day of the experiment in the calves of the experimental groups was 30.14%, which is 9.2% higher than in the control group (27.85%, p < 0.05). the number of leukocytes (wbc) decreased by 5.2% compared to the control groups, while in the control group, an increase in lymphocyte content to 78.7±4.50%, i.e., by 5.5%, was observed. the level of igg immunoglobulin increased by 13.6% and igm by 2.7% compared to the control groups. the increase in total protein concentration compared to the control was 11.3%. a decrease in alt and ast indicators was observed, which may indicate an improvement in the general condition of the calves in the experimental group compared to the control group during the experiment: alt by 9.4% and ast by 9.3%.
