Abstract    considering the pivotal and significant role of curiosity as a driving force for learning andthe effectiveness of the teaching process, this study was conducted to compare the levels ofcuriosity and its five dimensions among female chemistry teachers based on different levelsof teaching experience. this descriptive-analytical study employed a causal-comparativedesign. the statistical population consisted of all female chemistry teachers at the secondarylevel, from which 36 participants were selected through convenience sampling and dividedinto two groups of 18 (less than 10 years and more than 10 years of experience) based ontheir teaching experience. the research instrument was a five-dimensional curiosityquestionnaire, with a reliability coefficient of 0.745 confirmed by cronbach’s alpha. thedata were analyzed using independent t-tests and effect size calculations in spss version26. the results indicated that teachers with less teaching experience had higher mean scoresin all dimensions of curiosity. this difference was statistically significant in the socialcuriosity dimension (p = 0.048, d = 0.683) and the overall curiosity scale (p = 0.002, d =1.109). in other dimensions, including joyous exploration (d = 0.606), thrill seeking (d =0.560), deprivation sensitivity (d = 0.413), and stress tolerance (d = 0.358), although thedifferences were not statistically significant, the effect sizes for joyous exploration and thrillseeking were evaluated as moderate. with an increase in teaching experience, the level ofcuriosity, particularly in the area of social curiosity and the overall curiosity scale, decreasesamong female chemistry teachers. these findings underscore the necessity of designingprofessional development programs to maintain and enhance the curiosity of experiencedteachers.
