Abstract    considering the drought conditions and the decrease in water intake in recent years due to various changes in waterways and the dependence of the sistan plain region on drinking water supply from precipitation, hydraulic modeling was carried out using software and hydrological data to analyze the hydraulic conditions of the region's rivers and provide solutions to increase water intake. in the present study, an attempt has been made to simulate the water flow from the sistan river branching from the hirmand river to the bifurcation of afzal abad and adimi, as well as an integrated model modeling the hirmand, sistan, and parian rivers. various options were implemented to investigate the hydraulic conditions of the flow and the water intake share of the sistan river. analysis of the modeling results shows that in the case of removing the kohak dam structure, which acts as a water intake barrier, removing this structure in the final state will result in a significant improvement in the share of water intake of the sistan river from the hirmand river. also, for modeling in the case of increasing the slope of the sistan river and removing the kohak dam structure as an obstacle to the sistan river's water intake from the hirmand river, the share of the sistan river's water intake during times of water shortage (50 and 100 cubic meters per second) increases significantly compared to other models implemented. the amount of water withdrawal in sistan during times of water shortage for flow rates of 50 and 100 cubic meters per second is 43.51 and 57.82 cubic meters per second, respectively. it has an increase of 1450 and 1156 times, respectively, and an increase of 2 and 1.5 times compared to the case of increasing the slope of the sistan river and clearing the upstream and downstream of the kahak dam of sediments.
