Abstract    this study was conducted with the aim of identifying and analyzing effective approaches for fostering systemsthinking in the learning process of science education. the research methodology was designed based on anarrative (critical-analytical) review of findings from recent, reputable international studies. the resultsindicate that the dsrp conceptual framework comprising the components of distinctions, systems, relationships, and perspectives serves as a simple yet powerful instructional model that enables structuredteaching of systems thinking across educational levels. furthermore, three categories of innovative strategieshave been empirically recognized as effective in the reviewed literature: first, agent-based simulations (abms),which deepen understanding of the dynamics of chemical and biological systems through modeling localinteractions; second, immersive virtual reality (ivr), which facilitates comprehension of abstract concepts byproviding sensory and three-dimensional experiences; and third, interdisciplinary project-based learning withinthe stem framework, which strengthens systems thinking by situating it within real-world, sustainabilityoriented problems. additionally, the role of teachers as architects of this approach and the necessity ofprofessional development programs grounded in systems thinking emerged as key findings. nevertheless, threemajor barriers conceptual inconsistencies in defining systems thinking components, insufficient instructionaltime and inadequate teaching resources, and weak structural support from educational systems continue tohinder the widespread implementation of this approach.
