Abstract
the growing demand for electrical energy, alongside the limitations of fossil fuel resources and their environmental impacts, highlights the global necessity of transitioning toward clean and renewable energy sources. traditional centralized power generation systems face challenges such as high transmission losses, environmental pollution, and limited flexibility in meeting increasing energy needs. in contrast, renewable energy technologies, distributed generation (dg) units, and demand-side management (dsm) strategies offer promising solutions for enhancing the efficiency, reliability, and sustainability of power systems. this paper, based on a library-based study derived from the first chapter of a graduate thesis, provides an educational framework for presenting modern energy concepts within physics education. by linking fundamental physics principles-such as energy conversion, efficiency, electromagnetism, and thermodynamics-to real-world technologies like solar cells, wind turbines, and microgrids, the study emphasizes the importance of integrating applied energy topics into physics curricula. the findings underscore that combining renewable energies, dg technologies, and dsm measures not only shapes the future of electrical power systems but also enriches physics education by connecting theoretical concepts to practical applications.
