چکیده    The purpose of this article is to reduce chlorinated and halogenated solvents from dichloroethane andmethyl chloride production processes in petrochemicals. for this purpose, a thermal oxidizer wasused along with a scrubber. the thermal oxidizer operates with a maximum air flow of 36000 nm3/h,installed electrical power of 100 kw and a gas burner capacity of 1000 kw. its dimensions are 5 * 5* 12 m3 and its chimney height is 10 meters. the results indicated that all monitored pollutants weremaintained well below their respective regulatory limits. hydrochloric acid, vinyl chloride and 1,2-dichloroethane, chlorine, volatile organic compounds, methane, carbon monoxide, sulfur oxides, totaldust, dioxins (pcdd), and ethyl chloride were either not detected or measured at trace levelssignificantly lower than permitted values. nitrogen oxides were the only component detected at acomparatively higher concentration, yet still remained below the allowable limit (66 mg/nm³measured vs. 100 mg/nm³ permitted). overall, the test-run confirmed effective emissions control andcompliance with environmental standards across all evaluated parameters.
