چکیده    Increasing co₂ emissions have generated a need for more efficient and selective capture technologies. metal–organic frameworks (mofs) have been identified as promising adsorbents due to their large surface areas, tunable pore structures, and frameworks capable of functionalization, in this review, we summarize recent advances in the development of mofs for co₂ capture, focusing on important adsorption mechanisms, key structural characteristics, and recent trends in functionalization methods, including the addition of open metal sites and modification with amines.. despite promising experimental results, resolving stability issues in moisture, regeneration services, and scalability and cost of production remain challenges for many mofs. nonetheless, progress towards the development of water-stable mofs, composite materials and computational design methodologies suggests strong possibilities of industrial application in the future.
