چکیده
|
A major environmental issue now is the increasing release of non-biodegradable pollutants from industrial activities, especially because of their toxicity and persistence in water habitats. for the treatment of such complicated wastewater streams, membrane technologies have become a very efficient and adaptable solution. recent advances in membrane-based techniques, including microfiltration (mf), ultrafiltration (uf), nanofiltration (nf), and reverse osmosis (ro), are reviewed with a particular focus on their use in the removal of non-biodegradable inorganic and organic pollutants. also examined are developments in polymeric, ceramic, and hybrid membranes, as well as the part nanomodified and catalytic membranes play in raising selectivity, permeability, and chemical stability. important operational problems, including membrane fouling, excessive energy use, and material endurance, are examined together with a summary of recent solutions for their reduction. the review offers an understanding of upcoming trends, including smart membranes, self-cleaning systems, and combined aop membrane hybrid technologies. ultimately, membrane-based treatment is still a viable and sustainable method for industrial wastewater management that can greatly help to preserve the environment and advance more environmentally friendly industrial practices
