از دانشگاه سبز تا شهر سبز: مطالعه موردی موسسه فناوری ازمیر و همسویی آن با پایداری شهری ازمیر

در سال‌های اخیر، مفاهیم دانشگاه سبز و شهر سبز به‌عنوان رویکردهای کلیدی برای پیاده‌سازی توسعه پایدار در سطوح آموزشی و شهری مورد توجه جهانی قرار گرفته‌اند. این پژوهش با هدف بررسی نقش موسسه فناوری ازمیر ترکیه (iztech) به‌عنوان یک نمونه موفق در گذار از دانشگاه سبز به شهر سبز و همسویی آن با دستور کار پایداری شهری ازمیر طراحی شده است. روش تحقیق در این مطالعه موردی، ترکیبی از تحلیل اسنادی، بررسی برنامه‌ها و سیاست‌های رسمی دانشگاه و شهرداری ازمیر، و ارزیابی شاخص‌های عملکردی در حوزه‌های انرژی، مدیریت پسماند، حمل‌ونقل پایدار، فضای سبز و مشارکت جامعه است. یافته‌ها نشان می‌دهد که iztech با اجرای برنامه‌های جامع زیست‌محیطی از جمله استفاده از انرژی‌های تجدیدپذیر، سیستم‌های بازیافت پیشرفته، و ترویج فرهنگ پایداری در میان دانشجویان و کارکنان نه‌تنها به‌عنوان یک دانشگاه سبز مطرح شده، بلکه به‌طور فعالانه در شکل‌دهی به چشم‌انداز شهر سبز ازمیر مشارکت دارد. این هم‌خوانی، الگویی برای همکاری موسسات آموزش عالی با نهادهای شهری در جهت تحقق اهداف توسعه پایدار فراهم کرده است. نتیجه‌گیری این پژوهش بر این اصل استوار است که دانشگاه‌ها می‌توانند به‌عنوان موتور محرکه‌ی تحولات پایدار شهری عمل کنند، به‌ویژه زمانی که سیاست‌های داخلی آن‌ها با برنامه‌ریزی‌های کلان شهری هماهنگ باشد. این مطالعه می‌تواند به‌عنوان یک چارچوب قابل تعمیم برای شهرها و دانشگاه‌های دیگر در نظر گرفته شود.

from green university to green city: a case study of izmir institute of technology and its alignment with izmir’s urban sustainability

in recent years, the concepts of green university and green city have emerged as key approaches forimplementing sustainable development at educational and urban levels, attracting global attention. this studyaims to examine the role of the izmir institute of technology (iztech), turkey, as a successful model intransitioning from a green university to a green city, and to assess its alignment with izmir’s urban sustainabilityagenda. the research methodology employs a case study approach, combining document analysis, review ofofficial policies and plans from both iztech and izmir metropolitan municipality, and evaluation ofperformance indicators in areas such as energy, waste management, sustainable transportation, green spaces,and community engagement. findings indicate that iztech through comprehensive environmental initiatives,including the use of renewable energy, advanced recycling systems, and the promotion of a sustainabilityculture among students and staff has not only established itself as a leading green university but also activelycontributes to shaping izmir’s green city vision. this strategic alignment offers a replicable model forcollaboration between higher education institutions and municipal authorities in advancing the united nationssustainable development goals. the study concludes that universities can serve as powerful catalysts for urbansustainability, particularly when their internal policies are harmonized with broader municipal planningframeworks. this case study may thus serve as a transferable framework for other cities and universitiesworldwide.
