Authors najafi hasan ,kazemizadeh zohreh
Abstract    the present study aims to examine the content of social studies books of the first secondary education cycle based on religious identity components, using a comparative content analysis method. the research instrument was a religious identity checklist comprising 106 components across three levels—cognitive, affective, and behavioral—and six domains—individual, social, cultural, economic, aesthetic, and biological&-physical—which was validated for content by experts in educational anthropology, islamic psychology, and curriculum studies. the findings revealed that the highest frequency and percentage, respectively, pertained to the behavioral, cognitive, and affective components of religious identity. therefore, the principle of balance—as one of the governing principles in the design of educational and curricular programs and as a key criterion in content selection—has not been sufficiently observed. the level of attention to the social domain was 41.2%, the individual domain 23.61%, the cultural domain 13.56%, the economic domain 8.79%, the aesthetic domain 8.79%, and the biological&-physical domain 6.28%. hence, the degree of attention to religious identity components across the various domains—individual, social, cultural, economic, aesthetic, and biological&-physical—in the social studies book of the first secondary education cycle, given the centrality of islam in iran, is neither at a desirable nor at a commendable level and requires further planning and attention. of the 407 religious identity components present in the social studies book of the first secondary education cycle, 73.73% pertained to the text, 20.23% to the images, and 6% to the exercises.
