بازتاب تجدد و حیرت در سفرنامه های ایرانیان عصر قاجار

مفهوم تجدد از جمله‌ مهم ترین مفاهیمی است که از عصر قاجار تاکنون هم «پرسش» آفریده و هم «مساله» و نیز «حیرت». در سفرنامه سیاحان حیرت افروزی، بارز و برجسته است. روش تحقیق، کیفی است که با رویکرد تفسیری-تاریخی و با برخورداری از درک همدلانه مبتنی بر کشف نیت مولف تنظیم شده، و با تاکید بر امکان گزینش دوگانه ‌مولف- مفسّر صورت بندی شده است. با در نظر گرفتن اینکه در ایرانِ عصر قاجار، با جامعه ای بازمانده و مردمانی فقیر در مقایسه با اروپا روبرو بوده ایم، این پرسش به میان خواهد آمد که بازتاب تجدّد از نگاه سیاحان ایرانی در سفر به غرب چگونه رویت، تجربه و روایت شده است؟ این‌ نوشتار معطوف‌ به‌ دو مفهوم «تجدّد» و «حیرت» و بازیابی آن در سفرنامه‌های سیاحان ایرانی است. در این‌ مقام، ما برحسب‌ متون مورد مطالعه، با ریخت‌شناسی «تجدد» به مثابه‌ ترقّی با رویکردی ایجابی_ایلافی، در قالب نوسازی، شهرسازی و صنعتی شدن، و «حیرت» ‌به مثابه‌ عرفی‌نگری در ذیل اعجاب‌آفرینی، باورناپذیری، تحسین آشکار و غبطه خوری روبرو هستیم. ریشه‌های تحیّر به مختصات تجدّد به سه ساحت «اندیشه»، «سیاست»، «جامعه و فرهنگ» بازمی‌گردد. در حاشیه این‌ حیرت‌آفرینی، در دو ساحت «دین و اخلاق» و «سیاست ‌بین‌المللی و ‌نظامی» با رویکرد انتقادی مواجه‌ایم.

the reflection of modernity and astonishment in qajar-period iranians' travelogues

modernity is one of the most crucial concepts that has been generating questions, challenges, and astonishment since the qajar period. the expression of astonishment in travelogues written by iranian travelers is highly noticeable. employing a qualitative and historical-interpretative approach, the present study is grounded in a sympathetic understanding of the travel writer's intentions, with an emphasis on the potential selection of the binary relationship between the travel writer and interpreter. considering the poverty, misery, and underdevelopment of iran during the qajar period compared to developed europe, a fundamental question arises: how did iranian travelers observe, experience, and narrate modernity in europe? the current study focuses on exploring modernity and astonishment in the travel books of iranian travelers who visited europe. in the morphology of modernity as progress, it manifested in the form of renovation, urbanization, and industrialization. a state of astonishment for the travelers manifested in envy, explicit praise, incredulity, and amazement. the roots of astonishment are interconnected with three areas: ideas, politics, as well as culture and society. at the margins of astonishment, a critical perspective was encountered in spheres of religion and ethics, as well as in international and military politics.
