master's students' lived experience about e-citizenship education in higher education courses
in the modern world, due to the blurring of geographical boundaries, the human race needs coordinated and uniform knowledge, information, skills, and attitudes in order to be able to face and manage new situations and conditions well by relying on these abilities. therefore, the present study was designed and implemented with the aim of investigating the lived experience of master's students about e-citizenship education in higher education courses. this research was applied in terms of purpose and qualitative and phenomenological in terms of method.
the statistical population included all master's degree students of tonekabon azad university in the academic year 1402-1403 with a population of over 2200 people. sampling in this study continued until theoretical saturation of data was reached, and finally 20 targeted interviews were conducted.
the findings showed that students' perception of the concept of e-citizenship includes a set of skills and abilities such as maintaining electronic security, being aware of online rights and responsibilities, communicating correctly in cyberspace, and performing daily tasks electronically. also, their lived experience in the field of e-citizenship education includes various dimensions; including hardware and software training, individual and collaborative training, cyberspace security training, and strengthening e-citizenship skills. in addition, the factors affecting the education of these citizens have also been experienced in a way that includes determining expert training groups, paying attention to global experiences and successful international models, and developing educational programs based on current needs.
the lived experience of students also shows that the consequences of e-citizenship education can be seen in three areas: economic, social, and environmental, each of which has positive effects on the sustainable development of society. finally, this research emphasizes that comprehensive attention to these dimensions and components can provide appropriate paths for optimal use of new technologies and strengthening the culture of digital citizenship and develop the necessary skills for active and responsible presence in the digital world. therefore, improving the level of relevant education and continuously updating educational programs are essential for shaping efficient and committed electronic citizens in today's society.
