Abstract    the arrival of islam in iran was more than a political transformation; it was a profound identity shift. however, the precise role of the imamate and the ahl al-bayt (as) as the central axis in this process of deepening beliefs has been less systematically examined. this research seeks to answer the question: how did the imamate and the conduct of the ahl al-bayt (as) lead to the acceptance and deepening of islamic beliefs in iran during the 250-year period of their presence? using a descriptive-analytical method and relying on authoritative library sources, this study systematically analyzes this historical process. the findings indicate that the role of the ahl al-bayt (as) in this process was multifaceted. in the first stage, the caliphate of imam ali (as) in kufa, with its practical model of justice and equality, enhanced the initial appeal of islam for iranians. in the second stage, the event of ashura and its mourning rituals created a deep emotional and spiritual connection with this family, transforming islam into a collective identity. finally, the scholarly activities of imams baqir and sadiq (as), the institution of deputyship (wikala), the migration of sadat (descendants of the prophet), and the journey of imam reza (as) to khorasan, were influential not only in the western and central centers of iran and greater khorasan but also in remote regions of iran, namely sistan and azerbaijan, solidifying the intellectual and organizational foundations of these beliefs. the conclusion is that the teachings and conduct of the ahl al-bayt (as), due to their compatibility with the iranian spirit of seeking justice and spirituality, played a key role in transforming islam from an emerging religion into an inseparable part of iran's religious and cultural identity.
