چکیده    The nonlinear buckling behavior of cylindrical shells with circular cutouts under pure bending is a critical concern in structural engineering. this study investigates the impact of key geometric parameters, including cutout diameter and height, as well as material properties such as elastic modulus and thickness, on ultimate buckling resistance. finite element analysis (fea) and response surface methodology (rsm) were employed to develop a predictive regression model. the results indicate that increasing the cutout size significantly reduces buckling resistance, with cutout diameter playing a more dominant role than height. additionally, a direct correlation was observed between elastic modulus and structural resilience, while cylinder thickness had a moderate reinforcing effect. the regression model demonstrated high predictive accuracy, validated through finite element simulations, offering a reliable tool for optimizing cylindrical shell design. these findings provide valuable insights into the interplay between geometric imperfections and material properties in determining the structural stability of cylindrical shells under bending loads.
