This study addresses the root cause of excessive vibration in a screw compressor, specifically focusing on the elimination of looseness in the radiator cooling fan. the compressor in question is an oil-injected screw compressor used in a pelletizing plant. vibration analysis identified abnormal vibration levels at the compressor’s air-end, which were traced to looseness in the radiator fan motor bearings. using conditionbased monitoring (cbm) techniques such as vibration analysis, ultrasonic testing, and thermography, the faulty component was identified and rectified. following the replacement of the fan motor and repair of the bearings, the vibration levels were significantly reduced, improving operational reliability and performance. this paper highlights the importance of proactive fault detection and resolution through effective vibration monitoring
