چکیده    Planetary gearboxes are a cornerstone of modern mechanical systems, providing high torque density, compact size, and efficient power transmission. they are critical components in a wide range of applications, including industrial machinery, automotive systems, wind turbines, and aerospace equipment. however, due to their complexity and high operational demands, planetary gearboxes are prone to various faults that can compromise system performance and lead to costly downtime. this paper provides a comprehensive overview of planetary gearboxes, their applications, common faults, and advanced methods for fault detection. by examining recent advancements in sensor technology, signal processing, and machine learning, this study highlights the potential of modern techniques to enhance the reliability and maintainability of planetary gearboxes.
