literature review of varnish problem on journal bearing in iran's southeast tropical areas (case study: bandar abbas)

Varnish generally occurs do to three factors: oxidization, friction and heat, equipment operation in south humid area has varnish potential. varnish has been known to clearance reduction, poor heating and cooling performance, increasing friction and wear in journal bearing. these problems may also result in mechanical system failures, performance degradation and increased maintenance and repair costs. to improve the problems caused by varnish contamination, the definitions and characteristics, generating machinery, generating mechanisms, causes, measurement methods and varnish prevention or removal methods are summarized. and at the end a case study and how we can avoid this problem from variety of sides has had reviewed.
