اخلاق تکاملی در بوتۀ نقد: مروری بر نظریه‌ها و کاستی‌های بنیادین

مقالۀ حاضر ضمن ارائۀ مروری نظام‌مند بر طیف وسیعی از نظریه‌های برجستۀ اخلاق تکاملی (از جمله انتخاب خویشاوندی، نوع‌دوستی متقابل، انتخاب گروهی، شهودگرایی تکاملی و تکامل همدلی)، به ارزیابی انتقادی مبانی، دستاوردها به‌ویژه کاستی‌های بنیادین این رویکرد در تبیین کامل پدیدار پیچیدۀ اخلاق انسانی می‌پردازد. مسئلۀ اصلی که این مقاله بر آن تمرکز دارد، بسنده‌نبودن نظریه‌های تکاملی رایج در پاسخ به پرسش‌های وجودی و غاییِ اخلاق است؛ به‌ویژه چراییِ نیازِ بنیادینِ انسان به «تولید اخلاق» فراتر از صرف سازوکارهای بقا و سازگاری. این مقاله استدلال می‌کند با وجود روشنگری‌های این نظریه‌ها دربارۀ برخی جنبه‌های رفتار اجتماعی، غفلت آنها از ابعاد فرهنگی، نقش عاملیت و اراده به‌ویژه ریشه‌های عمیق‌ترِ وجودیِ اخلاق، منجر به تبیینی تقلیل‌گرایانه و ناکافی شده است. درنهایت، مقاله بر ضرورتِ فراتر‌رفتن از تبیین‌های صرفاً تکاملی و لزوم توجه به رویکردهای فلسفی و وجودی برای دست‌یابی به فهمی جامع‌تر از اخلاق انسانی تاکید می‌ورزد.

evolutionary ethics under critical scrutiny: a review of theories and fundamental shortcomings

this article provides a systematic review of a wide range of leading theories in evolutionary ethics—including kin selection, reciprocal altruism, group selection, evolutionary intuitionism, and the evolution of empathy—while offering a critical evaluation of their foundations, contributions, and especially their fundamental shortcomings in fully accounting for the complex phenomenon of human morality. the central issue addressed is the insufficiency of standard evolutionary accounts in responding to the existential and teleological questions of ethics—particularly the deeper question of why human beings possess a fundamental need to ‘generate morality’ beyond mere mechanisms of survival and adaptation. the article argues that, despite their valuable insights into certain aspects of social behavior, these theories overlook cultural dimensions, the role of agency and volition, and, above all, the deeper existential roots of morality. this neglect leads to a reductive and ultimately inadequate account of ethics. the study concludes by emphasizing the necessity of moving beyond purely evolutionary explanations and attending to philosophical and existential approaches in order to attain a more comprehensive understanding of human morality.
