روح و جسم از نظرگاه ابوالعلا معری (آغاز و فرجام): سنجش دو ساحت عقل و احساس در مسئلۀ حیات پس از مرگ از نظرگاه ابوالعلا معری

لازمۀ پذیرش یک سیستم فکری، انسجام و سازگاری در آموزه‌های معرفتی است. یکی از مسائلی که ابوالعلا معری شاعر اندیشمند عرب به آن می‌پردازد، روح و جسم و سرنوشت روح بعد از مرگ تن است. نگاه نخست او به پیروی از ویژگی عقل‌گرایانه‌اش، رویکردی شک‌گرایانه همراه با احساس بدبینی به مسئلۀ حیات روح بعد از مرگ است؛ اما در نگاه دوم، وی با رویکردی دینی به این مسئله می‌پردازد که طبعاً به آموزۀ حیات بعد از مرگ ایمان دارد و تسلیم اوامر الهی در‌این‌باره است. وی با چشم‌اندازی دینی و ایمان‌گرایانه، به واسطه خوف از خدا و پشیمانی از گناه و حسرت در هنگام مرگ، سرانجام از رای و عقیده خود روی برمی‌تابد. این مقاله در‌صدد تبیین نقش احساسات و عواطف در رسیدن به باورهاست.

body and soul in the perspective of abū al-ʿalāʾ al-maʿarrī (origin and end): an evaluation of the dual realms of reason and emotion in the issue of afterlife from abū al-ʿalāʾ al-maʿarrī’s viewpoint

a necessary condition for accepting any intellectual system is coherence and consistency in its epistemological doctrines. one of the issues addressed by abū al-ʿalāʾ al-maʿarrī, the arab poet-thinker, is the relationship between body and soul and the fate of the soul after bodily death. his initial stance, in line with his rationalist tendencies, reflects a skeptical and pessimistic outlook toward the idea of the soul’s survival after death. however, in his later perspective, he approaches the issue with a religious orientation, ultimately affirming belief in the afterlife and submitting to divine decrees. from a religious and faith-based perspective — motivated by fear of god, remorse for sin, and existential anguish at the moment of death — he ultimately retracts his earlier skepticism. this paper seeks to elucidate the role of emotions and sentiments in shaping beliefs.
