نگاهی به تاریخچه و فعالیت‌های موسسه تحقیقات واکسن و سرم‌سازی رازی

زمینه و هدف: به زودی، موسسه تحقیقات واکسن و سرم‌سازی رازی واقع در حصارک کرج وارد دومین قرن فعالیت خود خواهد شد. به بهانه این رویداد فرخنده کوشیده‌ایم نشان دهیم این موسسه مهم پزشکی- دام‌پزشکی کشور، از جنس یکی از موسسات تمدنی بهداشت- درمان کشور توانسته است سنتی علمی خاص خود را در کشور پدید آورد.روش: این مقاله یک پژوهش تاریخ‌محور است که می‌کوشد در قالب یک بررسی کتابخانه‌ای قدم دیگری در جهت تبیین نظریه موسسات تمدنی بهداشت و درمان کشور بردارد. این مقاله براساس داده‌های تنها کتابخانه‌ای تهیه شده است.یافته‌ها: ماهیت و چگونگی راه‌اندازی این موسسه در اواخر دوران قاجار ایران و کوشش‌هایی که در جهت بالندگی آن انجام شد؛ دستاوردهای موسسه شامل مجموعه وسیعی از واکسن‌ها و سرم‌های مصرف دام‌پزشکی و پزشکی، تکامل تدریجی ساختار و موسسه و حرکت آن به سمت یک نهاد بسیار مهم و تاثیرگذار در زمینه تامین انواع واکسن و سرم یافته‌های مقاله هستند.نتیجه‌گیری: موسسه تحقیقات واکسن و سرم‌سازی رازی در پی واکنش‌های اجتماعی به کشتار بسیاری از دام‌های کشور در پی بروز بیماری طاعون گاوی در سال 1298 در ایران تاسیس شد و گام‌هایی برای مبارزه با این بیماری برداشت؛ اما به‌زودی مامور تهیه مجموعه‌ای از واکسن و سرم‌های انسانی نیز شد. درخواست اجتماعی برای راه‌اندازی این موسسه همانند درخواست‌های دیگری است که در پی مسائل دیگر بهداشتی- درمانی کشور منشا راه‌اندازی بسیاری از موسسه‌های تمدنی بهداشت و درمان کشور شد.
