the relationship between multicultural education and academic engagement in university students

Objective: interaction with classmates is a vital element that contributes to completing tasks and acquiring social skills in education. on the other hand, education, learning, and development are closely and reciprocally linked with culture in every society. given iran’s multicultural and multiethnic context, multicultural education can help reduce discrimination and enhance students’ engagement and in-group interaction. this study aimed to investigate the relationship between multicultural education and academic engagement among students at hakim sabzevari university.methods: the research method was descriptive-correlational. the statistical population included 8,199 students at hakim sabzevari university. using random sampling and morgan’s table, 390 students were selected as the sample. the multicultural education questionnaire and the academic engagement scale (aes) were administered. data were analyzed using correlation methods and spss version 27 at a significance level of 0.05.results: findings indicated a significant relationship between multicultural education and academic engagement (p = 0.05).conclusion: the results suggested that applying cooperative and participatory teaching methods and emphasizing social justice in multicultural education leads students to be more inclined toward group work, ultimately fostering educational and cultural development.

رابطه آموزش چند فرهنگی با مشارکت تحصیلی در دانشجویان

هدف: تعامل با همکلاسی عنصری حیاتی است که موجب تکمیل شدن وظایف و اکتساب مهارت های اجتماعی در آموزش می شود. از طرفی آموزش، یادگیری و پرورش در هر جامعه ای با فرهنگ ارتباطی تنگاتنگ و متقابل دارند بنابراین باتوجه به چندفرهنگی و چند قومیتی بودن کشورمان ایران، آموزش چندفرهنگی برای رفع تبعیض و افزایش مشارکت و تعامل درون گروهی دانشجویان کمک کننده خواهد بود. پژوهش حاضر با هدف بررسی رابطه آموزش چند فرهنگی با مشارکت تحصیلی دانشجویان در بین دانشجویان دانشگاه حکیم سبزواری انجام شد‌.روش: روش پژوهش، توصیفی و از نوع همبستگی بود. جامعه آماری این پژوهش 8199 دانشجوی دانشگاه حکیم سبزواری بودند که با استفاده از روش نمونه یری تصادفی و بر اساس جدول مورگان، تعداد 390 نفر به عنوان نمونه انتخاب شدند و پرسشنامه های آموزش چند فرهنگی و پرسشنامه مشارکت تحصیلی بر روی آنها اجرا شد. داده ها با استفاده از روش همبستگی و به وسیله نرم افزار spss نسخه 27 در سطح معناداری 05/0 مورد تجزیه و تحلیل قرار گرفتند. نتایج: یافته ها نشان داد که بین آموزش چند فرهنگی و مشارکت تحصیلی رابطه وجود دارد (05/0p=).نتیجه‌گیری: نتایج تحقیق حاکی از آن بود که استفاده از روش های تدریس همیاری و مشارکت و تاکید بر عدالت اجتماعی در فرآیند آموزش چندفرهنگی، باعث می شود تا دانشجویان تمایل به کارهای گروهی داشته باشند که در نهایت این امر منجر به توسعه آموزش و فرهنگ می شود.
