زمینه و هدف: ادبیات (اعم از رمان، داستان، قصه و شعر) همواره به عنوان آینه‌ای از زندگی انسانی و جامعه، توانسته است ابعاد مختلف اندیشه‌ها، رفتارها و مناسبات انسانی را به تصویر بکشد. تا پیش از شکل‌گیری جرم‌شناسی به عنوان یک گرایش میان‌رشته‌ای، ادبیات در سطوح مختلف عهده‌دار تبین رفتارهای انسانی، به ویژه رفتارهای جنایی بود. خوانش جرم‌شناسانه متون ادبی می‌تواند به عنوان یک گرایش میان‌رشته‌ای، ادبیات و جرم‌شناسی را به یکدیگر پیوند دهد و برای تحلیل دقیق‌تر موضوع‌های جرم‌شناسی و علوم جنایی بستر مناسبی را فراهم آورد.روش: در این مطالعه با روش توصیفی- تحلیلی، با تکیه بر روایت‌شناسی، تحلیل گفتمان انتقادی و رویکرد بینامتنی بوده است. ادبیات، به‌ویژه در ژانر رمان‌های جنایی، نوآور و واقع‌گرایانه، همواره فضایی برای کاوش انگیزه‌ها، روان‌شناسی بزهکار و بسترهای اجتماعی جرم فراهم کرده است.یافته‌ها و نتایج: ادبیات، به‌ویژه در ژانرهای رمان‌های جنایی، نوآور و واقع‌گرایانه، همواره فضایی برای کاوش انگیزه‌ها، روان‌شناسی بزهکار و بسترهای اجتماعی جرم فراهم کرده است. آثار نویسندگانی مانند: داستایفسکی، ویکتور هوگو و آلبر کامو نمونه‌های بارزی از بیان نظریه‌های جرم‌شناسی در ادبیات هستند. به طور خاص، رمان «جنایت و مکافات» داستایفسکی را می‌توان به عنوان کتابی معرفی کرد که مجموعه نظریه‌های جرم‌شناسی در آن مطرح و نقد و تحلیل شده‌اند. این پژوهش عهده‌دار اثبات همین فرضیه است که هرچند داستایفسکی این کتاب را پیش از دوران ظهور نظریه‌های جرم‌شناسی نوشته است، اما تجربه‌ها و نگاه دقیق او به وی این امکان را داده است تا داستان را مبتنی بر نظریه‌های امروزین جرم‌شناسی به تصویر بکشد و هر کسی که آشنایی اندکی با این نظریه‌ها دارد، به روشنی درمی‌یابد که وی توان فوق‌العاده‌ای در پردازش داستان داشته است و پیش از ظهور جرم‌شناسی، امکان نظریه‌پردازی در این زمینه را فراهم کرده است.
