|
Hydrophobic solid surfaces have been found to promote the formation of gas hydrates effectively. this study investigates the effect of super hydrophobic nano silica in the form of dry water on co2 hydrate formation kinetic. dry water is a free flowing powder prepared by mixing water, hydrophobic silica particles, and air at high speeds. 5 series of tests have been carried out to study the effect pressure on co2 hydrate. gas uptake, maximum storage capacity, water to hydrate convention and formation rate have been investigated. it s observed that co2 consumption relation by pressure in dry water medium is different from that of bulk water and it s not proportional to pressure. water to hydrate conversion exhibits the same behaviour. maximum storage capacity and maximum water to hydrate convention is 0.07 (mole co2/mol water) and 27% in initial pressure of 27 bar at 25c respectively. also a new method is provided for gas uptake calculation which is exhibited significant improvement of computational cast
