|
Hydrogen produced from renewable energy sources is of great interest as an alternative to fossil fuels and as a means for power generation via fuel cells [1,2]. methanol steam reforming is a promising process for the generation of hydrogen [3]. in this work, cu/kit-6, ceo2-cu/kit-6 catalysts were prepared by impregnation method and a few solvents (ethanol and thf) has been tried in these experiments. their catalytic activity for methanol steam reforming was investigated at 300 °c. for the catalysts examined, ceo2-cu/kit-6 (thf) exhibits the best catalytic performance with methanol conversion of 96.19% and h2 selectivity of 92.85% and the experiments showed that thf is a better solvent for synthesized catalysts. the physical and chemical properties of the as-prepared catalysts were characterized by xrd, bet, fe-sem.
