چکیده    Memorizing english vocabulary is often a boring activity during learning. the present study reports the usefulness of mobile game applications in vocabulary learning of iranian students. the participants, (60) intermediate students of grade 2 of an english institute were assigned to experimental and control groups. the experimental group learnt some new words via a mobile application (dr words) in 12 weeks. a vocabulary-based test, acting as pre-test and posttest, was conducted in the first and 12th weeks. a pre-test and a post-test have been performed to find out the learning abilities of students. the results of the experimental study clearly indicated that english vocabulary learning skills of students had higher statistically significant improvements as a result of using the mobile application in the experimental group.
