Abstract__ the current study is conducted to investigate any possible effect of visual input enhancement in learners’ engagement and positive attitude. to pursue the goal, 86 iranian efl students studying at persian gulf university and 30 high school students took part in the study. the university students were junior and senior students majoring in english literature. to obtain the required data the following tests were administered: a proficiency test and an engagement and attitude test. based on their proficiency test scores, the participants were divided into two groups. the experimental group took part in poetry classroom via visual input enhancement and visualization. the engagement and attitude test was administered to check learners’ level of engagement and attitude toward the classroom via different input. the descriptive analysis of data was calculated and t-test analyses were used. the findings indicated that level of engagement and positive attitude differed in experimental and control groups, experimental group obtained higher levels of engagement and expressed positive attitude toward the poetry and prose class via visual input enhancement. the findings of study provided much needed empirical data for teachers in literature classroom and suggested a highly practical strategy to improve efl learners’ engagement.
