In this work, we demonstrate a facile method that imparts hydrophobic character to uio-66 , while retaining their porosity. the long alkyl chain of stearic acid with low surface energy was grafted onto the surface of uio-66, which would make uio-66 high water resistance, yielding a hydrophobic material with a contact angle of 93°. the products were characterized by bet, xrd methods to monitor their textural properties before and after functionalization. the results indicated that stearic acid was successfully grafted to the uio-66 framework. therefore, we were able to greatly improve the stability of uio-66.
