چکیده    Sarc-cov-2 or covid-19 is a systematic virus infection that speared worldwide since 2019 and threated public health. according to world health organization (who) the number of people, infected covid-19 is increasing rapidly. corona virus pandemic has become a global issue and the mortality rate is on the rise. this virus impairs the body s organ function and expert significant impact on metabolism but there is little information on how the virus affects metabolism. recognizing the virus characteristics and metabolism can help to provide safe vaccine. metabolites are small molecules that their amount in the body or the ratio of some of them change due to cellular metabolism and its disruption indicates the onset of disease and infection. the results of recent research showed that metabolomic analysis revealed abnormally level of some metabolite in body, so checking the profile of metabolites and finding biomarkers play an important role in covid-19 faster diagnosis. traditionally, biomarkers play a pivotal role in the early detection of disease etiology, diagnosis, treatment and prognosis. therefore, to understand the host response to covid-19 and to identify biomarkers in biological samples such as serum, plasma, urine, respiratory gases, saliva, etc. omics science such as transcriptomics, proteomics and target and untargeted metabolomics based mass spectrometry and nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy were used. chemomertic methods used to analysis obtained data from metabolite profile. by using chemometric methods like pls and pca people classified into healthy, mild patient and severe patient. in this article some of recent papers about the role of metabolomics in covid-19 reviewed and some metabolites and biomarkers in patients reported. because covid-19 is an emerging disease, searching in this field will continue. it is hope that the present study will be of interest to researchers.
