   explaining the obstacles and challenges of using e-learning in the university of science kermanshah medicine from the perspective of faculty members

چکیده    Background: due to the amazing growth and development in the field of information technology and increasing human knowledge and awareness, the old methods of production and distribution of knowledge based on face-to-face communication, have gradually lost their effectiveness and the need to use new tools are felt. in order to meet this need, e-learning, which is an evolved form of the old methods of teaching and learning to study with the aim and use of information technology, has quickly been introduced as a method of learning in the age of knowledge and awareness. although the world is moving towards e-learning, but unfortunately it is observed that some obstacles in educational centers and universities, has become a factor that is less used in this type of education.the aim of this study was to understand and explain the views and perspectives of faculty members about the barriers and challenges of using e-learning in kermanshah university of medical sciences.methods: the method of qualitative study was conducted through content analysis (directional) and face-to-face interviews with 16 faculty members (up to saturation). the time of each interview was from 20 to 45 minutes depending on the conditions and patience of the participant. . interviews were recorded with the permission of the participants and then implemented on paper. after the first interview, analysis and coding were performed.results: in this study, the findings are divided into three main categories with the titles of 1- barriers to education (with 9 sub-categories) 2- individual barriers (with 4 sub-categories) 3- infrastructure and technology barriers (with 3 sub-categories), a total of 16 subcategories and 240 codes are divided. the highest frequency was obtained in obstacles and challenges: educational and technical support with 80%, professors 'lack of time and internet problems and challenges 75% and the lowest frequency related to teachers' knowledge and awareness was recorded at 16%.(it should be noted that data collection was in 1398 and before the coronavirus epidemic and the closure of schools and universities).conclusion :based on the results of face-to-face interviews and analysis, data analysis and according to the codes and frequency obtained, the most challenges faced by faculty members of kermanshah university of medical sciences in terms of educational and technical support in the main category of education barriers another issue that should be considered in kermanshah university of medical sciences is the challenge of the internet and the lack of time for professors. the least challenge and obstacle that was raised is related to the challenge of cognition and awareness in the category of education, which shows that the faculty members of kermanshah university of medical sciences have the necessary knowledge and awareness.
