the role of photodynamic therapy in the treatment of breast cancer

Photodynamic therapy (pdt) has great attention as an alternative therapy in the cancer ‎treatment. an appropriate photosensitizer (ps), oxygen, and light for the induction of ps are ‎the main components of pdt. pdt provides reduced side-effects, better cancer-specificity ‎according to current treatment options including surgery, chemotherapy or radiotherapy. ‎breast cancer is the most common type of cancer in women and the breast area can easily ‎accessible through pdt apparatus. however, the effectiveness of pdt is different for each ‎type and subtypes of cancer. in this regard, this presentation will address the therapeutic ‎role of pdt in breast cancers from the point of view in vitro and in vivo findings with ‎assistance from theoretical information.‎
