   new diode laser wavelengths for soft tissues surgery

چکیده    The introduction into the dental field of diode lasers characterized by low size and cost, ‎optic fibre delivery systems and no necessity of maintenance represented an important step ‎for laser-assisted oral surgery.‎the possibility of diode lasers to emit in a large range of wavelengths, from 405 to ‎‎2000 nm, added new therapeutic possibilities for dental treatments and, consequently, ‎several studies were performed for determining the best choice for patients, by the point of ‎view of laser-tissues interactions.‎even if the use of blue laser in dentistry is relatively recent, a great number of studies ‎about it are already present in literature with different advantages and indications for blue-‎violet (405 nm) and blue laser (450 nm) in all dentistry fields.‎ex vivo studies we previously realized on bovine tongue samples showed for 450 nm ‎diode laser good performance in terms of superficial and deep temperature control coupled ‎to the best quality of the incision with minimal thermal damage and signs of inflammation. ‎in vivo human studies demonstrated that this wavelength represents a new approach in term ‎of efficiency and patient comfort in oral surgery with great results in term of patient ‎comfort and aesthetic effect.‎the aim of the presentation is to show by clinical cases the possibilities and ‎potentialities of blue diode lasers in oral surgery, as a new and effective tool.‎
