   photodynamic therapy of drug-resistant staphylococcus aureus ‎‎using methylene blue

چکیده    Introduction: antibiotic resistance is one of the most serious global public health threats ‎worldwide. ‎the aim was to investigate the effect of methylene blue evoked using red laser ‎diode at wavelength ‎of 660 nm on multidrug-resistant isolates of staphylococcus aureus.‎methods: different concentrations of methylene blue 0.05, 0.1, 0.5 and 1 µm were excited ‎using a ‎laser diode at different irradiation times of 60, 150, 300 and 600 seconds and its ‎inactivation effect ‎on the multidrug-resistant isolates of staphylococcus aureus was ‎evaluated.‎results: multidrug-resistant isolates of staphylococcus aureus were sensitive to ‎photodynamic ‎inactivation and slowed bacterial growth rate by increasing methylene blue ‎concentration and ‎increasing time interval.‎conclusion: using methylene blue among with a red laser diode at wavelength of 660 nm can ‎be a ‎good option to kill multidrug-resistant isolates of staphylococcus aureus.‎
