پیکرنگاری روی پارچه ها از دوران گذشته تا اوایل صفوی در ایران به انحاء گوناگون رواج داشت و در زمان شاه عباس به اوج رسید و در مکتب اول قاجار به شیوه صفویان ادامه یافت. نقش انسانی به صورت کالبدی رسمی یا غیررسمی روی پارچه نقش بسته و تاثیرات نقوش روی پارچه و سایر هنرها در شیوه اجرا و مضمون مشهود است. تغییرات نقش پردازی در نوع چهره پردازی به صورت آرمانی و غیرآرمانی و در شکل اندامی پیکره های منقوش بر پارچه ها با شیوه ترسیم شکل کلی اندام بنا بر زیباشناسی زمانه و نوع لباس رایج عصر و ترکیب فیگور بسته به قراردادها مشاهده می شود.
