Hyland (2006) has specified that the capacity to compose precisely and easily can be seen as an indicator of learners composing victory, despite the fact that this has continuously been a challenging assignment for understudies, notwithstanding whether they are well or ineffectively reviewed. writing proficiency has moreover been of intrigue to numerous esl analysts. cho, rijmen, and novak (2013), shi et al. (2020) are the analysts who concluded that incite sorts may result in critical advancements in learners composing results. creating students’ capacity for composing is one of the major challenges confronted by esl instructors in most schools these days. the current study is an attempt to address the impact of online chatting on efl learners’ writing proficiency. to embark on this study, 20 efl learners participated in this study as participants, within the current study written conversations between the researcher and the participants were done based on 30 different subjects by using the applications like whatsapp, telegram, and, shad, igap, and eita, and the effect of writing by means of these applications and the participants writing proficiency were checked. the analysis of the results which were coded by using maxqda 2022, implied features related to grammar errors, spelling errors, capitalization, punctuation, and using abbreviations and emojis based on the writings of the participants.
