a study of speech acts in everyday conversations of iranian people

This research article examines the use of speech acts in the iranian context, specifically exploring how they are employed in everyday conversations. according to the qualitative analysis conducted through interviews with 80 native iranian speakers, the study concluded that iranians are able to show respect, politeness, and establish social relationships through their use of speech acts. speech acts are also used to emphasize points or to soften criticism. furthermore, the study also reveals that iranians use speech acts differently according to their gender and social context. the results of this study suggest that speech acts play a significant role in iranian communication, which has implications for cross-cultural communication as well.
