چکیده    Antibacterial cotton goods have always been the focus of researchers and many researches have been done in this field. in this research, woven cotton fabrics were prepared with different concentrations of second generation of polyamidoamine dendrimer (pamam) and cationic gemini surfactant through pad-dry-cure modification method. the optimal modified sample was selected by staining test using two model dyes: anionic, c.i. acid red1 (ar1), and cationic, c.i. basic blue9 (bb9). the strength of optimal sample’s color represented 500% and 27.6% enhancement compared to raw cotton in ar1 and bb9, respectively. presence of dendrimer and gemini compounds on the optimal sample were proved by atr results. the prepared samples demonstrated excellent antibacterial performance against both gram positive, staphylococcus aureus (s. aureus), and gram negative, escherichia coli (e. coli), bacteria. this approach can be defined as an environmentally friendly route for investigating antibacterial cellulosic based fabrics in surgical pads for biomedical applications as well as cotton fabrics for garments.
