Nowadays, the problem of corrosion is one of the fundamental problems to overcome; in the present study, teflon nano coatings (ptfe) containing zinc (zn) were used to prevent the corrosion of steel surfaces. the hydrophobicity and self-cleaning properties can reduce the corrosion of metal equipment. this research uses the spraying method to apply ptfe nanocoating containing zn powder on steel surfaces. properties such as water repulsion from the surface and morphological properties have been investigated by water drop contact angle (wca), x-ray energy dispersive spectroscopy (eds), and field emission scanning electron microscope (fe-sem). the results of the wca test demonstrated the prepared nanocoating had a contact angle greater than 120°. electron microscope images have shown that by adding zn, the surface roughness has increased, which has contributed to the hydrophobicity of the surface and reduced the corrosion. reduction of the corrosion in metal surfaces correlates with hydrophobicity and self-cleaning properties of the surface.
