چکیده
|
Polycondensation of phenol derivatives with formaldehyde and subsequent carbonization has been one of the most used procedures for preparation of porous carbons. nitrogen doped porous carbons (npcs) are attracting considerable interest because of their remarkable performance in a number of applications. in this study npc with tailored pore structure were fabricated via simultaneously foaming and carbonizing resorcinol-formaldehyde-melamine resin in the presence of deep eutectic solvent (des) composed of urea and zncl2. the des as carbonaceous precursors and the n-doping agent showed effective performance. the use of des as structure directing agents (sda) resulted in a porous carbon structure with pore surface areas up to 600 m2/g and nitrogen content of 7.15 wt% with carbon conversions of ∼80%. nitrogen functionalities in combination with high surface area provided a notable co2 adsorption capability to the resulting carbons. using the des carbonization method opens an avenue for producing carbon materials, especially possessing porosities and functionalities for efficient co2 capture with outstanding co2 adsorption capacities (up to 12 mmol/g) at 301 k and 6 bar.
