چکیده
|
Ionic liquid containing initiating system was used to facilitate cationic polymerization of isobutylene to conventional grade polyisobutylene (pib) using alcl3 initiator. specifically, the compound from 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride (il) was employed as the simplest reference. overall results affirmed that the designed alcl3/il initiator system can be used as a safer and greener alternative to the industrially used bf3 system, in developing isobutylene polymerizations to pib for viscosity improver applications.
