چکیده    In the drilling operations of oil and gas wells, the stability of the well wall and the success of the project are highly dependent on the properties of the drilling fluid, including the thickness of the cake and the fluid loss control. polymers are additives that are used in water-based drilling mud to enhance rheological properties (apparent viscosity, plastic viscosity, yield point) or to control loss of circulation. however, the role of polymeric materials in this field is in its infancy and has made significant progress in recent years. the present study, while examining the recent advances in the synthesis and applications of environmentally friendly polymers in the drilling fluid system, has discussed the role of polymers in improving and improving the rheological properties and control of fluid loss, mud cake thickness, filtration properties and thermal stability. the most important findings of the research show that environmentally friendly polymer systems reduce costs by 30% and reduce waste transportation and disposal.
