   fabrication of a self-healing antibacterial hydrogel using β-cyclodextrin dimer/modified alginate/agno3

چکیده    Self-healing hydrogels have potential applications in tissue engineering, drug delivery, and biomedicine. as a result, the construction and development of hydrogels that can repair damages and have suitable mechanical properties attracted much attention. host-guest (hg) based self-healing hydrogels have poor mechanical properties. this challenge was mainly solved using β-cyclodextrin dimer (bis-cd) as host cross-linker and silver nitrate nanoparticles. for this purpose, alginate modified with dopamine (alg-da) and bis-cd as a guest polymer and host cross-linker was synthesized. then, alg-da/bis-cd and alg-da/bis-cd/agno3 nps hydrogels were constructed based on hg complexation. these hydrogels have favorable mechanical and self-healing properties (the mechanical strength of alg-da/bis-cd hydrogel is 3490 pa). also, due to the presence of agno3 nps, alg-da/bis-cd/agno3 nps hydrogel showed good antibacterial properties. biocompatibility, self-healing (in less than 10 seconds), and antibacterial properties of these hydrogels make them suitable options for wound dressings and coatings.
