Tannic acid (ta) is a component of water-soluble organic matter that results from the decomposition of plant biomass in nature. this substance belongs to the category of polyphenolic compounds and has a relatively high molecular weight (on average 1700 g/mol) and is usually found in surface water due to the decomposition of plants and in a very small amount by animals. the purpose of the current study of montmorillonite nanoparticles is to investigate the performance of these nanoparticles on polyaniline in the adsorption of tannic acid from aqueous solutions. in order to investigate the performance of adsorption tests, the discontinuous method was used and the optimal conditions considering different phs were 88% (ph=6.7) for polyaniline / montmorillonite nanocomposite effect of different parameters such as time, amount of adsorbent and ph was investigated in the adsorption. discontinuous method was used in adsorption. the highest efficiency in absorbing tannic acid at ph equal to 6.7, duration of 100 minutes, and the amount of adsorbent from 10 mg to 100 mg increased from 66% to 88%. the results show that the prepared montmorillonite nano-composite has a good performance in adsorbing tannic acid from aqueous solutions.
