چکیده    An azo-containing phenol derivative (apd) was synthesized and used as additive for improvement thermal properties of polyvinyl chloride (pvc)/copper (ii) oxide nanocomposite. apd was synthesized from an azo-coupling reaction between 2,5-dimethyl phenol and 5-aminoisophthalic acid. the pvc thin films were prepared by solvent blending and casting method. the results of ft-ir, xrd, and fe-sem revealed that apd had desirable effect on dispersity of nanoparticles in the pvc matrix. the thermogravimetry analysis as well as tensile test results revealed that apd along with inorganic nanoparticles led to improve of pvc thermal and mechanical properties.
