   introducing a nanocomposite transdermal patch: adhesion and ketoprofen release

چکیده    Transdermal patches are one of the widely-used drug delivery systems that are attached to the skin to deliver a controlled dose of a drug. drug-in-adhesive patches are the main type of these systems that have attracted more attention due to their ease of design and production. in this research, a nanocomposite patch consisting of polysilsesquioxane/acrylic core/shell nanoparticles and 2.5 wt. % ketoprofen was prepared. the distribution of the drug in the psa was uniform and despite about 36% decrease in the peel force and shear strength of the psa in the presence of ketoprofen, these properties ​​were 11 times and 9 times those of a ketoprofen commercial patch, respectively. furthermore, the system showed a two-stage kinetic release and followed the higuchi model from 15 min to 12 h. besides, the released drug amount from the studied patch was more than the commercial patch, indicating its higher efficiency.
