چکیده
|
Api 650, welded tanks for oil storage, is a standard developed and published by the american petroleum institute (api) that establishes minimum requirements for the design, fabrication, erection, and inspection of welded storage tanks. this standard only applies to tanks with uniformly supported bottoms and to tanks in non-refrigerated service that have a maximum design temperature of 93 degrees celsius (200 degrees fahrenheit) or less. this standard was originally published in 1973, with the most recent 13th edition being released in march of 2020. api 650 is the standard governing welded tanks for oil storage. it dictates tank design, fabrication, welding, inspection, and erection requirements. api 650 is widely used for tanks that are designed to internal pressures of 2.5 psi or less and store products such as crude oil, gasoline, chemicals and produced water. in this paper, a comprehensive review and application of the welding part of api-650 have been presented with detailed non numerical study. the scope of the paper is to investigate the welding design principles of steel liquid storage tanks with api-650 specification. the aim of the paper is to introduce the api-650 standard which is used for analysis of these structures. to achieve these goals summary of api-650 is presented and a non-numerical example was followed.
