identification and evaluations of ergonomic risk factors in healthcare environment, applying delphi survey and bwm

The work environment has a significant impact on employee performance; this issue is even more important in healthcare environment as it can influence not only the personnel but also the patients. this paper aimed to identify ergonomic risk factors due to previous years’ studies and interview with experts. as a result, 25 factors were determined which were classified into 9 different categories including: occupational issues, physical activities, awkward posture, psychosocial stress, long working hours, staff issues, work pressure, patient issues and physical environment. also, the identified factors were investigated and 8 most important ones were determined using delphi survey. then, these most important factors were prioritized using bwm technique. so, by adopting appropriate strategies based on influencing ergonomic risk factors, most important ones can be concentrated and the shortcomings can be compensated. the result shows that among the most important ergonomic risk factors, the overtime working is the best and expectations are the worst ones.
